Woodland Owl Pouch · Free Crochet Pattern (No-Sew)

Any owl lovers here? Do you also love little pouches to hold trinkets and such? Well, this little Woodland Owl Pouch is my newest free crochet pattern and it's the perfect mini bag!

The Woodland Owl Pouch is a no-sew bag for holding small trinkets and tiny treasures when exploring the forest. It’s nifty, eco-friendly, can be attached to a keyring or keychain, and used as a backpack or purse accessory. The design features textured puff stitches made of dc clusters for the owl’s belly, as well as big round eyes, colored wings, and a hanging loop. It’s the perfect birthday gift or Christmas holiday gift for animal lovers who have a penchant for whimsical styles!

    Worsted weight (#4) yarn is recommended for this pattern. I used Hobbii's Upcycled Alpaca Blend, which is a limited edition and unfortunately may be discontinued in the near future. Other yarn recommendations I have for this pattern include:

    Crochet Pattern Information


    Height: 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) 
    (Does not including hanging loop and tassels)

    Level of Difficulty:

    ★★☆☆☆ Familiar Beginner. Requires familiarity with stitches used (below), changing colors, and attaching yarn. 

    Stitches/Terms Used:

    • FO = fasten off 
    • YO = yarn over 
    • ch = chain 
    • sl st = slip stitch 
    • sc = single crochet 
    • inc = increase (insert 2 sc in same st) 
    • dec = decrease (sc 2 sts together) 
    • dc = double crochet 
    • dc-inc = double crochet increase (2 dc in same st)
