Cuddle Bunny Ragdoll Lovey · Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

I recently discovered the joys of crocheting amigurumi with blanket yarn by making Rumi the Red Panda and Flynn the Fox.  Since my newfound obsession, I've been designing more patterns with this wonderfully chunky yarn...and I'm excited to share with you my next one.  It's this sweet ragdoll lovey that is almost completely no-sew!

The Cuddle Bunny is a ragdoll lovey that has a flat body, mimicking a security blanket for babies, toddlers, and young children. This almost no-sew project only requires sewing for the ears. It features a head, body, arms, and legs crocheted in one piece. Even the lacy details around the neck, long sleeves, and pajama pant legs are crocheted directly onto the doll.

This clever rabbit design also features two-toned ears using simple color-changing techniques.  Thus, you're able to get some nice detail in this simple design, while maintaining a minimalist look.  It really helps to decrease the amount of sewing you need to do, especially when working with this type of yarn that is slippery, smooth, and easier to unravel.

Yarn Used

This design is easy and works up quickly with super bulky yarn and a large, 5mm hook. It looks great with blanket yarn, polyester, chenille, or velvet yarn, though you can use other types of fibers too!  The sample was created with Hobbii's Baby Snuggle Yarn, perfect for a soft and cuddly toy.  I'm a big fan of this yarn after having worked with a variety of similar yarns from different brands, and can safely say that it's my new favorite yarn for amigurumi.

Customizing & Gifting

Customization is easy with this pattern.  You can use different yarn colors, and the design itself is unisex and gender neutral, suitable for both boys and girls.  Kids will adore snuggling up to this sweet doll!

Cuddle Bunny makes a great craft fair product as well as a birthday gift, holiday gift, or baby shower gift.

Size

Its size is quite standard for a lovey, measuring 16.5" (42 cm) in height from ears to toes.

Level

The level for this project is suitable for a familiar beginner or an intermediate crocheter, as it involves familiarity with the stitches below, changing yarn colors, attaching yarn, and sewing parts together.
