Pocket Lion · Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

I recently started a collection of mini amigurumi dolls, called the Pocket Plushes! They are all mini animal amigurumi dolls that are quick, easy, and oh-so-cute. Today, I'm welcoming its very last member...the Pocket Lion!

This adorable Baby Lion is a cute mini doll that can be worked up quickly and easily. It's a pocket-sized stuffed animal that can fit into your palm. The head, mane, and ears are all crocheted together without any sewing needed! 

The Pocket Lion is probably the hardest one out of all the Pocket Plushes, and suitable for intermediate crocheters. Its mane is a little tricker to do, and requires that you are familiar with attaching yarn and crocheting in unworked loops. I had to rework this design three times to get it right! (Failed heads on the right, haha.) 

Yarn Used

This pattern is designed with super bulky chenille velvet or blanket yarn.  I used Hobbii's Honey Bunny Yarn, which is perfect for a soft and cuddly toy. You can also try out other types of fibers, such as blanket yarn, polyester, chenille, acrylic, wool, cotton and more.

To make a smaller, keychain-sized version, try using thinner yarns with a smaller hook!

This little toy is great for craft fairs, markets, or kids party favors. It’s a unisex and gender neutral stuffie that will appeal to boys, girls, children, adults, and everyone in between! It’s a great last-minute birthday and holiday gift. It'll be a hit for anyone who loves African wildlife and safari zoo animals!
