Mermaid Ragdoll Lovey · Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
I've been designing quite a few animal ragdoll loveys (yes, I'm kind obsessed). So far, I have a Bunny, Elephant, Dragon, Bat, Baby, and Child. This time, from popular demand, I have made a mermaid!

Customization Options
This design comes with a few different customization options for LOTS of beautiful mermaid combinations! You can choose...
- A narrower mermaid tail (doll version)
- A wider mermaid tail (lovey/blanket version)
- Hairband
- Hair buns (make one or two)
- Bangs (side bangs, or you can embroider a fringe)
- Sea flowers to add to the hair
It's a fun mix-and-match pattern!
The realistic looking fish tail is a fun one to work up, too!
Yarn Used
This adorable design is easy and works up quickly with super bulky yarn and a large, 5mm hook. It looks great with blanket yarn, polyester, chenille, or velvet yarn, though you can use other types of fibers too! The sample was created with Hobbii's Honey Bunny Yarn, perfect for a soft and cuddly toy.
If you'd like, another good substitute is Baby Snuggle Yarn, which I do use interchangeably with the Honey Bunny! They are both so similar in texture and feel. Check out my Baby Snuggle Yarn Review for more information about that yarn!
Customizing & Gifting
Customization is easy with this pattern. You can use different yarn colors and even make this into a merman instead of a mermaid just by changing up the hair! Kids will adore snuggling up to this sweet doll!
It makes an eye-catching craft fair product, as well as a birthday gift, holiday gift, baby shower gift for expecting moms, or for newborn and infant children.
Be sure to use embroidered eyes instead of plastic safety eyes to avoid choking hazard to small children.

Size
Its size is quite standard for a lovey. Your finished doll will measure approximately 13 inches (33cm) in height.
Level
The level for this project is suitable for a familiar beginner or a familiar beginner or intermediate crocheter, as it involves familiarity with the stitches below, changing yarn colors, and attaching yarn.
