Cuddly Buddy Ragdoll Lovey · Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

I've been designing quite a few ragdoll loveys (yes, I'm kind obsessed). Currently, there's a BunnyElephantDragonBat, and Baby.  And now, here's a bigger "toddler" version of the no-sew baby lovey... the Cuddly BUDDY!

Links:

The Cuddly Buddy Ragdoll Lovey is a toy that has a flat body, mimicking a security blanket for babies, toddlers, and young children.  It's the perfect snuggler for your little one to love on!

No Sew

This is a no-sew pattern, meaning it's worked completely in one piece!  The construction is made from top-down, starting from the head and going down to the legs.  Arms are crocheted directly onto the body after.  Even the white edging around the neck, sleeves, and pants are crocheted onto the doll.

Yarn Used

This adorable design is easy and works up quickly with super bulky yarn and a large, 5mm hook.  It looks great with blanket yarn, polyester, chenille, or velvet yarn, though you can use other types of fibers too!  The sample was created with Hobbii's Honey Bunny Yarn, perfect for a soft and cuddly toy.

If you'd like, another good substitute is Baby Snuggle Yarn, which I do use interchangeably with the Honey Bunny!  They are both so similar in texture and feel. Check out my Baby Snuggle Yarn Review for more information about that yarn!

Customizing & Gifting

Customization is easy with this pattern.  You can use different yarn colors, and the design itself is unisex and gender neutral, suitable for both boys and girls.  Kids will adore snuggling up to this sweet doll!

It makes an eye-catching craft fair product, as well as a birthday gift, holiday gift, baby shower gift for expecting moms, or for an heirloom doll for newborn and infant children.

Be sure to use embroidered eyes instead of plastic safety eyes to avoid choking hazard to small children.  You can embroider eyes to create a "sleepy" look, which is quite cute too!

Size

This lovey comes out to be a slightly larger size at 16 inches in height (40.5 cm).  It's a great size to be your little one's best friend!  An adorable snuggler to carry around on adventures together.

If you'd like a smaller lovey for a newborn or younger child, check out my Cuddle Baby Ragdoll Lovey!  It actually comes with lots of mix-and-match options for you to crochet a baby doll wearing pajamas, or a swaddled up newborn in a swaddle sack!  Below is the swaddled newborn version.

Level

The level for this project is suitable for a familiar beginner or a familiar beginner or intermediate crocheter, as it involves familiarity with the stitches below, changing yarn colors, and attaching yarn.
