Petite Granny Square Bag · Free Crochet Pattern

I recently made this sweet crochet bag as a prop for my amigurumi doll...and I'm SO in love with its cottagecore aesthetic.  I'm sharing the quick and easy, no-sew tutorial with you all!

    About the Pattern

Isn't this such a cute, little pouch?  All you need are two identical granny squares to start.  This pattern is very beginner-friendly and requires no sewing at all!  I also love that it's so versatile and can be made into so many things. A purse for your amigurumi dolls, a coin pouch by adding cloth lining, or even a sweet keychain!

In a nutshell, this pattern is...
    • Fast to make
    • Easy and beginner-friendly
    • Includes a step-by-step video tutorial
    • No sewing needed
    • Stashbuster project; great for using up leftover yarn scraps
    • Versatile and can be used as an amigurumi doll accessory, a coin pouch, a keychain, etc!

    Granny Square Pattern

The square that I use for this project is my free Floral Granny Square pattern.  This design works up quickly and easily, and you can have fun with different color combinations, too!

Of course, you're welcome to try out other granny squares to make this bag. It's pretty versatile and would work with any granny square, as long as you are making two squares with the same number of stitches on each side.

    Yarn

To make your pouch exactly like mine, you can use Hobbii's Friends Cotton 8/4 yarn!  It's a fingering/sock weight yarn that I use with a 2.25mm hook.  However, you're welcome to use a different weight of yarn and suitable hook to create your perfect bag!
