Hooded Hiro · Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
This sweet doll is part of my newest amigurumi pattern collection: the Snuggle Stuffies! I think they're quite aptly named because these stuffed animals are definitely very snuggle-worthy with how plush and soft they are.

Hooded Hiro is an amigurumi puppy dog that can sit up on his own. He has a ragdoll-style body with floppy arms and legs attached to the body, making him a great cuddle toy for kids, including babies, toddlers, and young children. Hiro’s outfit is a simple sweatshirt with removable hood and straps. Hiro is very quick to work up using super bulky blanket yarn or chenille velvet yarn, and requires minimal sewing as the legs and body are all crocheted in one piece.
Yarn Used
This design is easy and works up quickly with super bulky yarn and a large, 5mm hook. It looks great with blanket yarn, polyester, chenille, or velvet yarn, though you can use other types of fibers too! This particular amigurumi was made using Hobbii's Baby Snuggle Yarn, perfect for a soft and cuddly toy. I'm a big fan of this yarn after having worked with a variety of similar yarns from different brands, and can safely say that it's my new favorite yarn for amigurumi.

Customizing & Gifting
Customization is easy with this pattern. Add some embellishments and unique finishing touches...such as buttons, appliques, bows, bowties, and more. Hiro can be easily customized with different yarn colors as well! You can be creative and play around with color changes for stripes or color blocks on his sweater (or body). The design itself is unisex and gender neutral, suitable for both boys and girls. Kids will adore snuggling up to this sweet doll!
This amigurumi makes a great craft fair product as well as a birthday gift, holiday gift, or baby shower gift.
Size
Ollie's approximate height is 12 inches (30.5 cm). This makes him a relatively large amigurumi -- a great size for cuddling with!
Level
The level for this project is suitable for a familiar beginner or an intermediate crocheter, as it involves familiarity with the stitches below, changing yarn colors, attaching yarn, and sewing parts together.
