Pattern Testers Wanted for the Comfort Critters!

Update: The Comfort Critters pattern is now available! Check out the free version on my blog here.

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm on the lookout for a few pattern testers who can help me out with testing my newest amigurumi design, the Comfort Critters!

Here's some basic info about the project.

The pattern PDF includes instructions for the dolls and bed.  The dolls have different ears (bunny, bear, and mouse), but they all share the same body base.  Also included are instructions on how to crochet a tiny bow if you'd like to add that as an accessory to your dolls!  The options for customization are great, and you can have fun with color changes in the body of the dolls as I have!

These sweet dolls can be tucked into their tiny beds, making them a fun pretend-play toy for children. They can also serve as Worry dolls for kids who have sensory needs or anxiety.  Since they're so small, they can easily be carried around in pockets.

Pattern Testing Info

What is pattern testing?

Pattern testing is big favor that I'm asking of interested crocheters to help me with, to make sure my pattern is well-written and clear before it gets published!

I'm a beginner. Can I test?

While I love beginners, I have a tight deadline to meet, so I will require experienced crocheters/testers for this.  If you are a beginner, I recommend taking your time and starting with beginner-friendly patterns without having that time constraint.  (Feel free to check out my free pattern page, which contains patterns that are mostly beginner-friendly!)

Which materials are needed for this test?

  • Medium weight yarn (I used the Rainbow Brava Mini Packs from KnitPicks, which is a set of 24 shades that are great for crocheting colorful amigurumi!)
  • 2.75mm crochet hook for the dolls
  • 4mm crochet hook for the bed
  • 6mm plastic safety eyes
  • Stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Basics about the Comfort Critters:

  • Super quick pattern to work up!  Each item (e.g., doll, bed) is designed to be crocheted in one sitting.
  • Includes the following stitches/techniques: fastening off, magic ring, chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half double crochet, double crochet, increase, decrease, and surface slip stitch.
  • You'll also need to know how to sew parts together, attach plastic safety eyes, and change yarn colors.

What are you looking for in a tester?

Interested and experienced crocheters are encouraged to sign up! As a tester, you will be expected to do the following:
  • Crochet all three dolls (bunny, bear, mouse) and one bed.
  • Complete the pattern test on or before the deadline: 9/12. (Testers will be selected on 8/29.)
  • Read and understand written patterns in US Terminology.
  • Proofread the written pattern for errors and typos.
  • Provide feedback about the pattern, such as recommendations for improvement.
  • Take clear photos of the finished product under natural lighting.
  • Allow me to share photos of your finished product on my blog and social media sites (I will credit you as the crocheter, of course!)
  • Share the photos on your own social media (Facebook, Instagram), a crochet page, and/or Ravelry after the pattern has been released

If you're ready to sign up to be a tester, click here or the form below!

Thank you so much for your offer to help me, and I look forward to selecting testers soon!

Best wishes,
