Floral Mug Rug (Free Crochet Pattern + Video Tutorial)

Dear fellow crocheters,

Here's the pattern for my Floral Mug Rug, a lovely and quick-to-work-up pattern!  It can be used as a cup coaster, and it's the perfect last-minute gift, craft fair item, or instant-gratification project to whip up if you're looking to make something fast.  With only four rounds and a small amount of yarn needed, it's definitely a crowd pleaser.

This was not initially made as a stand-alone project.  I originally designed it as a motif that can be used as an intricate addition of detail for the Daisy Dreams Boho Bag (free pattern)

I think the floral granny square really adds to the bag's rustic and spirited farmhouse charm!  Other than using it on this bag pattern, though, I'm sure you can find lots of other uses for it!  It's essentially a granny square and can be pieced together into a blanket, rug, bag, coat, shawl, wrap, or more.

If you'd like to add some extra charm to your mug rug, you can make several tassels to attach to the corners!  I have an easy, step-by-step tassel tutorial that you can follow, and even add beads to it if you'd like.

For those of you who prefer following along with a video rather than a written pattern, please do check out my step-by-step video tutorial below~
