Daisy Dreams Boho Bag (Free Crochet Pattern)
Dear fellow crocheters,
I'm super excited to share with you my new design, the Daisy Dreams Boho Bag! It's a rather quick-to-work-up and easy, beginner-friendly crochet pattern. This cute and simple crossbody purse is not only fun to make, but useful too.
It features a floral granny square motif (video tutorial available), a beaded tassel “button” (easy tassel DIY tutorial available), and whimsical mini tassels to add to its rustic and spirited farmhouse charm. You can also include a fabric liner on the inside.
This design can be customized in many ways, such as using different yarn color combinations and adding embellishments (e.g., beads, pom poms, buttons, appliques). The length of the strap is easily adjustable too!
This accessory makes a great gift for teen girls and women who love fashion. It can be a suitable present for different holidays and occasions, such as birthdays, Christmas, appreciation or thank you gifts, and more! This trendy bohemian piece will surely be a hit at craft fairs too.
The yarn I used for this sweet project is Lion Brand Coboo Yarn, in the colors 'Mauve' and 'White.' I couldn't be happier with the results! It's very soft to work with and provides beautiful stitch definition. I also love that it is a natural fiber that consists of 50% cotton and 50% bamboo!

FO with a tail for sewing that end of the strap to the side of the purse.
~ FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS ~
- Using a yarn needle and the long tail from the granny square, sew the granny square to the front of the bag. (Make sure the strap is on the back.)
- Cut two fabric squares that are the size of the bag. Sew the left/right/bottom sides together. Insert the liner into the bag and fasten it using either fabric glue, fabric tape, or sewing methods.
- Make a beaded tassel (click here for my Easy DIY Tassel Tutorial) and sew it to the front-center of the bag, where you can loop the buttonhole over it.
- To attach tassels to the bottom of the bag: (A) Cut 5 yarn strands of equal length (double the length that you'd like your tassels to be). (B) Loop through a stitch on the bottom of the bag as shown in photo above. (C) Pull the ends through center tightly to secure them. (D) Attach tassels across bottom of bag and then trim the ends neatly.
- Lastly, sew the ends of the straps to the sides of the purse.
