Women's Health: 5 Fitness Tips for Busy Women

Fitness is an evolving topic.

So many women think of it as a journey to a specific place. They have this imaginary destination in mind where their bodies are borderline perfect, and they have melted (or scared) away their cellulite and stretch marks through intensive and terrifying exercise regimes.

While that destination is indeed possible for some, most of us will have to navigate life with a dramatically more realistic attitude.

Our bodies can and will become healthier and fitter through consistent training, but not from a temporary perspective and certainly from meaningful lifestyle adjustments – not just journeys. If you do not think you have the time to make those adjustments and train consistently to achieve the body you want, think again.

Below are five of the greatest tips for busy women to keep your fitness goals in check, even with a demanding schedule:

1. Workout From Home

You do not need to go to the gym to work out.

Start your morning or end your evenings with a quick workout in the comfort of your home. You only need 35 to 45 minutes to complete an effective training session. If you want to see results, you need to train consistently and sometimes that means going to the gym will not always be a convenient option for you.

2. Warm Up

As a busy woman, the last thing you need is an injury-causing downtime.

A good warm-up session prepares your body for a workout and reduces your risk of injury. Your warm-up routine should be dynamic and include stretches and light to moderate cardio exercises.

Get the blood flowing to your muscles and help increase your flexibility and range of motion before you start training. You only need five to ten minutes to follow an effective warm-up plan.

3. Supplements

Sometimes we all need a little extra help in life.

For women keen on training and having more energy in the gym, there are three supplements that can help with that. A good multivitamin will help cover all your vitamin and mineral bases, probiotics help keep your digestive system healthy, and testosterone does wonders for women! Testosterone is good for women for multiple reasons, including its ability to help prevent osteoporosis, heart disease, and Alzheimer’s dementia.

4. Fitness as a Lifestyle

Many busy women are guilty of rushing or missing meals or eating the wrong thing simply because it is convenient. You will not be doing your body or fitness routine any favors by skipping meal prep and buying a double cheeseburger instead.

Getting and staying fit is a lifestyle choice. While there is no harm in eating junk foods you enjoy in moderation, you should follow a healthy diet at least 95% of the time to see results.

5. Prioritize Sleep

Never skip on sleep for anything.

Unless you have a baby or sick child in the house - you must prioritize sleep and rest. When you get good quality sleep for six to eight hours, you will feel more energized and alert, and your body will get the time it needs to recover.

If you struggle to fall asleep, consider downloading an app that plays relaxing sleep and meditation music. Studies have shown that certain sounds help us fall asleep and stay asleep longer.

To End

A good thing to remember is that a person is only too busy for what is not a priority.

If you are determined enough to achieve your fitness goals - do not let anything stand in your way. Be consistent and always show up for yourself, no matter what.
