Kimono Kitty · Creator Challenge Intro

Dear fellow crocheters,

Welcome to Sweet Softies' fourth annual Creator Challenge, featuring Kimono Kitty!  She's a kokeshi doll that is easy to customize with different color combinations and makes for a lovely, handmade gift.  

We'll start after Valentine's Day in February, and then finish in mid-March, just in time for cherry blossom season! 

The Kimono Kitty is a little cat who wears a traditional Japanese dress.  This sweet amigurumi doll's outfit includes a kimono with the large sleeves and a bow on the back.  She also wears a sakura (cherry blossom) flower on her head.

In a nutshell, the Kimono Kitty pattern...

Introduction

A Creator Challenge is an event made up by Sweet Softies where crocheters can enter to:

1. Join a CAL featuring one of my new pattern designs (Kimono Kitty!)
2. Complete the project
3. Customize their creations however they'd like!  

In this crochet-a-long (CAL), crocheters are encouraged to add their own unique flair to finish the doll.  All acceptable submissions (that follow the rules below) will be shown on my website, and one will be handpicked by me for a prize!

Participants are encouraged to share work in progress (WIP) photos in the Sweet Softies FB Group!

Rules

1. You must follow the pattern stitches and rows exactly as they are written.
   
2. You may use any yarn color you'd like.
3. You may add any extra embellishments you'd like.
4. You may submit as many entries as you'd like.
5. Entries must be submitted by: March 20th, 2021 at 11:59pm PST.

How to Submit Entries

Note: Your entry will not count unless it has the tag! (I must be able to find it to include it!) 

• Submit a photo of your finished doll on the Sweet Softies Facebook Page or Facebook Group with the tag, #sweetsoftiescreatorchallenge
• OR, post on Instagram with the tag, #sweetsoftiescreatorchallenge
  

Prize

The winner will receive a premium doll pattern!  Winner can choose one of the following dolls:
