Baby Mary Jane Shoes with Bow (Free Crochet Pattern + Video Tutorial)

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm pleased to share with you my newest free crochet pattern for baby!  This is the Baby Mary Jane Shoes with Bow!

The Baby Mary Janes with Bow pattern provides instructions for crocheting a classic and feminine pair of soft booties for infants, newborns, and babies from 0 to 3 months of age.  These Mary Jane shoes are quick and easy to work up, yet it maintains a very sweet and elegant look.

While this is a beginner-friendly crochet pattern, there are many ways to customize this footwear, such as using different yarn colors or adding embellishments (e.g., buttons, flowers) to make it unique!

The shoe itself, with its sole, upper part, and straps, is crocheted all in one piece.  The bow is made separately and attached at the end.

This cute stash buster project goes hand-in-hand with Sweet Softies’ free Baby Turban hat patterns, which also feature cute bows.  There are two variations below to check out!

Together, the beanie and shoes make the perfect, handmade gift set for expecting mothers, baby showers, and newborn babies.

If you like this design of mine, you can check out the other Baby & Kid Patterns on my blog, or my entire collection of Free Crochet Patterns!

You can also PIN it for later!

~ FINISHING INSTRUCTIONS ~

  1. Attach the bow to the center of the shoe straps.  You may find it helpful to use your hook to pull the bow’s yarn tail through.
  2. Sew a small button to the side of the shoe where the straps can loop around.
  3. Repeat these steps with the other shoe to finish the pair.

And that's it!  Congratulations on finishing these baby shoes!!
