Mint Spirit Earrings (Free Crochet Pattern & DIY Tutorial)

Dear my fellow crafters,

Looking for another quick, easy crochet project that is trendy and fashionable for the warm weather season?  This lovely, turquoise pair of dreamcatcher-esque earrings with beads and tassels is just screaming happy, summer vibes!

You can whip it up SO quickly, and you won't imagine how inexpensive it is to make these.  All you need are fishhook earrings, a couple beads (optional but a very cute addition!), and two small skeins of embroidery thread!  Since the fishhook earrings are bought in bulk (I got a pack of 30, which can make 15 pairs of earrings), along with the beads that came in a large and generous pack, I can definitely roll out quite a few handmade earrings with these supplies!

Here's the price of materials breakdown...

I bought these items from my local Michaels craft store at the following prices:
Note: I highly recommend buying in-store, or at least checking the prices, because I've found that these products tend to be less expensive than online!

So, in conclusion... These are chic AND affordable earrings that you can easily crochet and make!

Oh, I must tell you about the cool embroidery thread that I used for this project, too!  I picked out DMC 6-Strand Embroidery Cotton Floss in the color "Light Sea Green" (No. 964).  It's a superior quality thread made of 100% long staple Egyptian cotton.  What I love about it is that it's double mercerized for a brilliant sheen, is 100% colorfast, and fade-resistant!  It also comes in SO many beautiful colors.  While I was standing in front of the embroidery thread shelves in my local Michaels store, I had a really tough time figuring out which color I wanted to pick to make into earrings first, because they all looked so pretty!

Here's a tiny, 8m/8.7yd skein that I got for $0.56 in-store!

What's also awesome is that I only needed to use two tiny skeins to complete this project.  Here's how much I had left over after finishing the dreamcatcher part of the earring, with plenty of thread left over for making the tassel!

Chic and handmade jewelry pieces like these sell well at craft fairs and make excellent gifts, or as a treat for yourself! It’s a must-have Spring and Summer fashion accessory to add a bohemian, gypsy, hippie, vintage, free spirit, or festival touch to your outfit.

I think they look lovely with different hairstyles, whether you let your hair down and loose, or up in a ponytail!

They also go well with both short and long hairstyles, don't you think?

If you love this boho chic fashion style, stay tuned for other earring designs as I plan to create more!
