Gold Luxe Cowl (Free Crochet Pattern)
Dear fellow crocheters,
I'm thrilled to share with you this beautifully-textured, reversible, and oh-so-soft crochet infinity scarf: the Gold Luxe Cowl!
It has such an AMAZING drape. Like its name, this yarn definitely feels luxurious. I named this cowl "Gold Luxe" after the "Vel-luxe" yarn that I used, because I find it to be just so fitting!
As you can see, it features interesting texture on both the right and wrong sides! The right side has a knit-like look, even though it is crocheted. The wrong side has a bumpy, almost seed-stitch look to it. Check out the side-by-side comparison below!
I definitely think both sides are lovely to wear out, depending on the type of look you're going for! Two-in-one style is a pretty nice deal for a single scarf, wouldn't you think?
Aside from flipping it inside-out, there are different ways to wear this reversible cowl too. Loop it twice around your neck, or wrap it just once. For extra warmth, pull it up as a scoodie (“scarf + hoodie”)!
Oh, and I absolutely must show you the the beautiful, cushy yarn that I used. This is Lion Brand Vel-Luxe yarn, as I've mentioned earlier, and it's my first time working with velvety yarn. I'm so glad I got this brand, because it feels. Like. A. DREAM!!! 💖

Introduction:
The Gold Luxe Cowl is an infinity scarf that is beautifully-textured, dreamily soft, and has an amazing drape. It is crocheted with yarn held doubled and with a large, 10mm hook for a quick yet relaxing project. The cowl is reversible, as the right side has a knit-like look (made with crochet methods) and the wrong side has a bumpy, almost seed-stitch look to it. This circle scarf can be worn in different ways, too. Loop it twice around your neck for extra warmth, once around your neck for style, or pulled up as a scoodie (“scarf + hoodie”) so that it can serve as both a neckwarmer and headwarmer!
Make this must-have Fall and Winter season accessory to add a brilliant pop of color and texture to your outfit, or as a handmade present! It is perfect to give for a birthday or Christmas. It’s also great to sell at a craft fair, or to donate to charity!

PATTERN INSTRUCTIONS
Pattern Notes (read before beginning):
[A] Yarn is held doubled throughout this pattern, making it work up quickly![B] This cowl is worked in joined rounds.
Let's Begin!
Hold the yarn doubled. Pick your preferred Foundation Row method below:[A: Chainless Foundation Method]
Work the foundation HDC stitch [video tutorial] to 60” or desired length. Without twisting the foundation row, join using a sl st to the first hdc.
[B: Chain Foundation Method]
Alternatively, if you do not wish to use the foundation HDC method, make a long chain to 60” or desired length. Being careful not to twist the chain, join with a sl st to the first ch. Ch 2, then insert a hdc in each ch. Make sure your foundation row is not twisted. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.
After making your foundation, continue with the pattern below.
R1: Ch 2. Hdc in the 3rd loop [video tutorial] around. Join with a sl st to the first hdc.R2-R21: Repeat R1 until the width of your cowl reaches 10”, or desired width. (Note: I went up to R21 to reach 10”.)
R22: Ch. Sc in 3rd loop around. Join with a sl st to the first sc.
Fasten off and weave in the ends. Congratulations on finishing!
