No-Sew Sea Turtle · Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

A lot of crocheters have enjoyed my Tori the Turtle pattern, which was part of my annual Creator Challenge back in 2022! The drawback to that pattern (in my opinion) is that it required sewing of different parts, like the head and flippers. Fast-forward to today, and I now have a completely NO-SEW Sea Turtle pattern available!!

LINKS

The No-Sew Sea Turtle works up quickly and easily. This marine amigurumi features a realistic looking turtle with curved flippers and a textured shell. It is designed with super bulky chenille velvet yarn for a huggable, 9-inch plush, but can also be crocheted with other yarn fibers. Try using blanket yarn, or use medium/worsted weight acrylic and cotton yarn for a smaller, keychain size turtle. It’s the perfect birthday gift or Christmas holiday gift for animal lovers and turtle enthusiasts.

About the Pattern

  • No-sew
  • Easy / beginner-friendly
  • Works up quickly
  • Curved flippers with realistic shaping
  • Huggable, 9" stuffie if made with plush yarn

Yarn

It can also be crocheted with different yarn weights and fibers to create different looks!  I used Hobbii Toucan yarn, which is a super bulky weight 6 velvet chenille yarn.  Blanket yarns also work great for a big, plush look.  If you're looking to make a smaller turtle, try using thinner yarns and a smaller hook to go with!  Medium weight or worsted weight acrylic and cotton yarns are great choices as well for crisp stitch definition.
