I know, not another no-sew pattern...
But honestly, who's truly complaining? Gotta love crochet projects that are fast, easy, and don't require you to pick up a yarn needle! If you're looking for just that, you might want to give my newest amigurumi design, the Pocket Owl, a try!
The Pocket Owl is a no-sew baby owlet that works up quickly and easily. This forest bird features realistic color changes on the head, feathery details on the wings and body, and crochet methods to make the beak and 3-toed feet.

Uses
There are many ways to make use of this pattern, such as:
- Keychain: add a keyring
- Valentine's day gift: there are too many owl Vday puns out there, so take advantage of them to gift an "Owl be your Valentine" or "Owl always love you" card to your loved one along with this cute amigurumi!
- Party favor: great as a goodie bag surprise for birthday parties
- Gift: for family and friends as a birthday gift, Christmas holiday gift, or anytime gift!
- "Pocket pal" or fidget: suitable as a portable therapy aid or security toy for kids
- Craft fair product: sell it at markets; it's the perfect market prep pattern to work up because it's a relatively fast pattern to work up.
- Random Act of Kindness: want to crochet this for charity or as a random act of crochet kindness? It'll be so fun to hide these beautiful owls around the community. Imagine the delight that people will experience when they discover your sweet owl.
Yarn
You can crochet the Pocket Owl with different yarn weights and fibers to create different looks. Want a jumbo owl? Use blanket yarn or super bulky chenille velvet yarn with a large hook! Want a petite, little owl? Use thin yarn with a small hook!
If you're wanting to crochet a palm-sized owl like mine, using medium weight / worsted weight acrylic or cotton yarns would be great choices. They provide crisp stitch definition and would make a durable keychain-sized amigurumi!
My worsted weight yarn recommendations are:
- Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic with beautiful, heathered yarn)
- Lion Brand's 24/7 Cotton Yarn (100% cotton and will produce crisp stitch definition)
- Brava Worsted or Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic, sturdy, and pretty good bang for your buck!)
