Pixie Hat

Pattern Notes:
  • The starting ch of the hat does not count as a dc.
  • A video tutorial is available for the Foundation Double Crochet (fdc) stitch.

  • The yarn color I used is put in parenthesis, but feel free to use whichever colors YOU wish!
  • The full set of photo references is available in the PDF pattern file

Let's Begin!

Start with dress-colored yarn (mint).
R1: Fdc 24. (24 sts)
R2-R6: Ch 3, turn, dc across. (24 sts)
Switch to frill-colored yarn (turquoise).
R7: Ch 1, turn. In BLO, insert 3 sc in each st around.
FO and weave in the ends.

Continue with making the straps:

  1. Insert hook into edge of hat where you finished R7.
  2. Begin with a long yarn tail for the strap, then sc along the edge. Stop when you reach the corner and fasten off.
  3. Repeat on the other side by sc across and leave a long tail for the strap.

  4. Fold the hat in half and sew the back together.
  5. Weave in all ends, and the hat is complete.
