30-week Pregnancy Update

Hi fellow Mamas!

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you'll know I'm pretty new to this whole vlogging scene!  That sure didn't stop me from making more embarrassing vlogs though.

In this one, I'm sharing about my 30-week pregnancy update!  Here's a quick look at the baby, which I pulled from the Pregnancy+ iOS app on my phone.

I can't believe she's estimated to be over 16 inches already!  And 3.3 lbs?  Wow!  I remember the early stages of pregnancy, when she was the size of a poppy seed, blueberry, lime.... And now at 30 weeks, she's as big as a bunch of broccoli!

I was also pretty excited to share about the "Coming Home" outfits that my husband and I had picked for her!  We picked out two separate outfits in two different sizes (newborn and 0-3 months), in case she would fit better in one of them.  Can you guess which one I picked, and which one my husband picked?

I do think they're both really cute!  They're also second-hand clothes; we haven't needed to buy a single garment for her as our neighbors and friends have so kindly passed on baby clothes that they no longer need!  We are really thankful to be surrounded by an amazing support group!

As a first-time mom, I'm also so fortunate that this has been a really physically and physiologically smooth pregnancy for me thus far.  From having no nausea in the first trimester, to having no significant aches or pains in the third, I'm feeling pretty blessed to have this experience.

Some of the things that I feel have helped me be relatively pain- and ache-free would be the following, and I see them as "must-haves" for pregnancy!  Click here for a blog post with more detail on these products.
  1. Compression Socks
  2. Back Support Band
  3. Maternity Shapewear / Belly Support

As for the interesting pandemic situation that we are in, I would have to say that being pregnant during this time has been an emotionally difficult one.  There are lots of shifts and changes in plans, and a lot of uncertainties still up in the air.  For instance, we don't know how the situation will be in July, when our baby is due, and may not have family coming to visit or stay with us.

However, we are very grateful for the support and warmth that we are receiving from our friends and neighbors, such as baby clothes and items, and checking in on us to see how we're doing!  That has been a godsend for my mental and emotional health.
