Creator Challenge: Part 4 of 5


Dear fellow crocheters,

Welcome to Sweet Softies' second Creator Challenge, featuring Coral the Mermaid!  She's the perfect amigurumi doll to make this summer!  If you haven't already, check out the INTRO PAGE for rules and important information about this Creator Challenge.




PART 4

Hair Cap & Bun

Let's Begin!

Hair Cap

Start with hair color yarn.

R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc around. (12 sts)
R3: (Sc, inc) x 6. (18 sts)
R4: (Sc 2, inc) x 6. (24 sts)
R5: (Sc 3, inc) x 6. (30 sts)
R6-R11: Sc around. (30 sts)

Fasten off with a long tail for sewing to head later.


Hair Bun

Start with hair color yarn.

R1: 6 sc in magic ring. (6 sts)
R2: Inc around. (12 sts)
R3: (Sc, inc) x 6. (18 sts)
R4-R5: Sc around. (18 sts)

Switch to the hair tie color. 

R6: (Sc, dec) x 6. (12 sts)

Fasten off with a long tail for sewing to the hair cap later.



Finishing Hair Cap & Bun

  1. Lightly stuff the hair bun.

  2. Sew the bun to the top of the cap using a yarn needle and the long tail from the bun.

  3. Hair cap and bun complete!
