Creator Challenge: Part 1 of 5

Dear fellow crocheters,

Welcome to Sweet Softies' second Creator Challenge, featuring Coral the Mermaid!  She's the perfect amigurumi doll to make this summer!  If you haven't already, check out the INTRO PAGE for rules and important information about this Creator Challenge.

~~~ COLOR & DESIGN PLANNING SHEET ~~~
If you're like me and you have a hard time visualizing how your mermaid will look in the end with your favorite color combination, you can download the Planning Sheet below.  I find it to be a helpful tool!
All you need to do is color in your mermaid with your preferred colors, find the corresponding yarn color/brand, and (optional!) glue or tape down small snippets of the yarn sample.  If you'd like to add embellishments to your mermaid, such as a pretty hairpiece or accessory, you can also draw it in!
Here's an example! It's my completed sheet for Coral.
And as you can see, Crocheted-Coral shares some resemblance with Paper-Coral!
Well, what do you say?  Let's get coloring!  Soon enough, you'll have your own little mermaid in your hand!
Don't forget to share your photos in the Sweet Softies FB Group!
Meet Mariella, Coral's sister!
Oh, and another note before I forget -- you don't have to make your mermaid with Coral's Hair Bun style!  You can also opt for a Hair Down style, like her sister Mariella.  The tutorial for that is available with photo references in my PDF pattern file.
With that step-by-step hair tutorial, you'll be able to make Mariella's beautiful, multi-colored hair!  See below for the pattern preview~
Don't want to wait for all CAL instructions? Want a printable, ad-free, and easy-to-read PDF file with photo references? Want to also get a bonus hair tutorial for making a "hair down" variation for your mermaid? If so, you can purchase the PDF file for a small fee. Thank you for supporting Sweet Softies!
