This one's made with a swing, and is yet another instant gratification crochet project that is no-sew and easy. It comes with fun, free printables, and is also available as a FREE video tutorial.
Meet... the Swinging Bear!
The Swinging Bear is a fast, easy, no-sew amigurumi pattern that takes just 25 minutes to make! This chubby sitting teddy bear on a swing makes a perfect hanging ornament for your home, office, Christmas tree, or car rearview mirror, cute bag charm, or even a fun necklace! Crafted with bulky plush chenille velvet yarn, it can also be made with thinner yarn for a smaller size, ideal for keychains or craft fair claw machines. You can even skip the swing for a mini sitting bear. They make great birthday presents, party favors, Valentine’s Day gifts, and stocking stuffers.
Look at how itty bitty it is! Using bulky chenille velvet yarn and a 5mm hook, mine come out to be under 3" tall.
Customization
What's also really fun about this pattern is that it's super customizable! You can simply switch up yarn colors to create different types of bears, such as bears with striped outfits, bears wearing shirts and pants, baby bears wearing diapers, or even panda bears! Recommended Yarn
This adorable amigurumi is designed with Posh Twist yarn, which is a super plush and soft bulky weight 5 yarn. It works up fast and produces generously-sized amigurumis with fewer stitches compared to thinner yarns! You can also use different yarn colors within the same doll to produce so many unique bears!
While this pattern is designed with plush yarn for that plush, squishy look, it also works great with cotton or acrylic yarns if that’s what you have on hand. Your bear will just end up even smaller, but they'll be the perfect size for a mini keychain, hanging ornament, or bag charm! Simply add clasps and rings with this inexpensive keychain making kit and you can clip your amigurumi onto backpacks, purses, and more.

- Bulky weight 5 chenille velvet yarn in desired colors (I used Posh Twist yarn)
- Thin yarn for swing (I used Friends Cotton 8/4)
- 5mm crochet hook (I use these)
- 6mm plastic safety eyes (I use these)
- Small scrap of felt for the muzzle
- Thread for embroidering a nose/mouth
- Sewing needle
- Fiberfill stuffing
- Yarn needle
