11 Things You Need In Your Bathroom For Ultimate Comfort And Convenience

We all know the basic items we need in our bathrooms, but what else do you need in them to make them more comfortable and convenient? That’s the topic we discuss in this post. We look at some of the additional items you might want to include to turn the room from functional to fab.

Water Jets

While they might sound fancy, water jets are one of the ultimate ways to add comfort to your bathroom. You can get a jacuzzi-like experience every time you take a bath.

Water jets often come pre-installed on specialist bathtubs so look out for these next time you’re at the homewares store. You can also get special jets you install in your walls in the shower, providing you with more of a 360-degree washing experience. Naturally, these cost more to install, but they can be fun. (Just make sure you warn your guests about them).

Heated Towel Rack

A heated towel rack is another must-have item in your bathroom. These are essential for keeping the worst of the dampness off your towels and warming them in the winter when it’s cold.

Heated towel racks come in various forms and styles. The size you choose will depend on the number of people who share your household. Families often need larger racks than those living by themselves (for obvious reasons).

Most people opt for chrome racks in the bathroom. However, some manufacturers are experimenting with variations, such as those with matte finishes.

Think about the size of your bathroom, too. The bigger it is, the more surface area any heating element you use will require. Some large bathrooms have towel racks that run the length of the entire wall, allowing them to raise the temperature more. If you’re considering a comprehensive bathroom upgrade that includes luxury features like heated towel racks, water jets, or even steam showers, get support from a local professional. Consulting local experts ensures that all aspects of your renovation are handled with precision, from selecting the right materials to flawless installation. Their expertise can help you transform your bathroom into a space that blends comfort and convenience perfectly.

Stream Shower

If you want to really push the boat out, you could get a steam shower. These double as saunas, allowing you to indulge yourself a little in the morning before work.

Steam showers work by containing more of the steam the flow of water creates. Many people find standing in this atmosphere reinvigorating and an excellent way to reduce inflammation.

Additionally, consider installing an indoor saunas as part of your bathroom renovation. Indoor saunas provide a dedicated space for relaxation and can enhance your daily wellness routine. The heat from an indoor sauna helps improve circulation, detoxify the body, and alleviate stress, making it a perfect complement to the invigorating experience of a steam shower.

Comfortables

Comfortables are also something you might consider making a standard feature of your bathroom. Providing robes for people to get into when they finish washing is a nice touch (and often something guests will love).

By comfortable, we essentially mean dressing gowns people can put on to dry themselves off. Towels are great, too, but bathrobes provide full coverage and can prevent you from feeling cold the moment you step out of the shower.

If you have hard floors in your bathroom, consider providing slippers. Adding these can offer a touch of luxury and keep your toes feeling toasty, no matter what.

Luxury Toiletries

Luxury toiletries are something else you’ll want to include in your bathroom for superior comfort and convenience. Having plenty of shampoo, shaving foam, and soap to hand enhances the washing experience tremendously.

When arranging toiletries, decant everything out of its standard plastic bottle and put it into permanent dispensers around the room. Place some in the shower cubicle and others behind the sink or vanity. Keep them topped up throughout the year and constantly check the pumping mechanism to ensure it’s still working.

This system makes your toiletries more attractive and means you can have them out all the time (instead of constantly hiding them away in cupboards). Guests will also appreciate not having to bring their own toiletries or go through the awkwardness of using your branded products.

Lighting

Proper lighting is also something that’s essential for ultimate comfort and convenience. When you get it right, you can see what you’re doing more easily.

Most interior design experts who focus on bathrooms suggest having a mixture of light sources. Some should be bright and dazzling, while others provide an ambiance.

What you choose will depend on your requirements. If you already have spotlights in the ceiling, you might want to add various lamps and sconces to mellow the room. You could also consider adding light by your mirrors so you can see what you’re doing when shaving or applying makeup.

Bath Salts

Bath salts are another thing that’s nice to have in your bathroom to make you feel more comfortable. These change the chemical properties of the water in the tub, making it more restorative than plan H20.

Bath salts are a little bit like modern versions of Epsom salts. Simply sprinkle them into the water and get them to dissolve before taking a long soak.

Rain Shower

After toilet installation, adding a rain shower is one of the most important things you can do in a bathroom. These literally make you feel like you’re standing in the rain in a country prone to torrential downpours.

Rain showers are not the same as power showers. Instead of forcing water through the nozzle, they allow it to flow under the force of gravity usually from a tank above.

Rain showers don’t make you any cleaner than regular showers, but they do often give you a sense of luxury. And that’s what you want after a long day.

Under-sink Storage

Under-sink storage also helps to make your bathroom more convenient. You can use it to keep items in drawers and cupboards instead of next to your faucets. Suddenly, it is simple to keep unsightly toothbrushes and pumice stones out of sight.

If you don’t have under-sink storage already, you can usually add it with a surround. Alternatively, you can buy a new sink that comes with it, selling your existing one.

Organic Cotton Towels

Finally, no comfortable and convenient bathroom is complete without organic cotton towels. These look great and can be stored folded on racks or shelves.

Of course, the whiter the towels, the better. These give the room a fresh and vibrant feel – like something out of a magazine.

You can also include things like washcloths and plush floor mats in the room’s soft furnishings. Helping it feel less cold and damp is always a winner.
