BONNET for Bunny Lovey · Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
If you've made my Sleepy Bunny Security Blanket doll and are looking for some dress-up accessories, you might like to make this quick and easy bonnet!
The bonnet is a hooded hat with two slots that fit perfectly over the ears.
This pattern is part of my Dress-up Bunny Lovey set, which is free on my blog (with the option of a PDF pattern with all the instructions for a small fee). Introduction:
This bonnet is made specially for the Dress-Up Bunny Lovey. It is a cute hat that will go over the bunny's head, with two ear slots for the ears to poke through.
Size:
Fits the Dress-Up Bunny Lovey
Level of Difficulty:
★★☆☆☆ Easy / Familiar Beginner
Requires stitches used (below) and changing colors.
Stitches/Terms Used:
- YO: yarn over
- MR: magic ring
- Ch: chain
- Sl st: slip stitch
- Sc: single crochet
- Dc: double crochet
- Inc: increase
- BLO: back loops only
Materials:
- Medium weight 4 yarn in desired colors (I used Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling™ Yarn in White and Baby Pink)
- 3.75mm crochet hook
- Scissors
~ CROCHET INSTRUCTIONS ~
Pattern Start:
Use the 3.75mm hook and pink yarn.
R1: In MR, ch 3 and insert 12 dc. *Join with a sl st to the first dc. (12 sts)
R2: Ch 3, dc-inc around. *Join. (24 sts)
R3: Ch 3, (dc, dc-inc) x 12. *Join. (36 sts)
R4: Ch 3, dc 33. Leave the last 3 sts unworked. (33 sts)
We will now work in rows.
R5: Ch 3, turn. Dc 12. Ch 3, sk 3 sts. Dc 3. Ch 3, sk 3 sts. Dc 12.
R6: Ch 3, turn. Dc across. (33 sts)
Edging: Ch 1. Instead of turning, sc across bottom edge of hood. FO, weave in ends.
Straps: Ch 30 (this makes the first hood strap). Attach yarn to the bottom corner of the hood, where you finished R6. Sc across in BLO. Ch 30 (for the second strap), then FO and trim the ends.
Congratulations on finishing your Bunny Lovey's bonnet!
