Marcela the Mexican Doll (Crochet Pattern)

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm thrilled to share with you my fourth (and newest) member of the Darling Dolls International Series!  Please say hello to Marcela, the Mexican Doll!

Here she is, posing for a group photo with the other lovely ladies of the International Series!  From left to right, it's Primrose the American Prairie doll, Marcela herself, Hana the Korean Hanbok doll, and Sanjana the East Indian doll.

Marcela is a Spanish lady wearing a traditional Mexican dress with the colors white, green, and red.  She loves to sing and dance to Latin music, and adorn her hair with large, vivid flowers to match her equally-vivid personality.

I had a lot of fun designing her lovely top.  I just adore the bright colors!

Here's a peek at Marcela before I styled her hair with a braid.  I think she's quite pretty with her hair down as well!

Of course, adding blush really breathes life into her!  It's one of the finishing touches that I love using on my dolls.

All in all, I am really happy with how this little lady turned out!  It was definitely a fun project designing a Mexican-inspired outfit and I'm looking forward to getting more ideas for my next International doll!

This written pattern is available in my Ravelry and Etsy shop.  This project is recommended for an intermediate crocheter due to the skills needed to cut out felt shapes and sew details.  The pattern includes photo references to guide you through the crocheting process!
