How to Sew Easy Snowflake Designs with Yarn
I have a holiday-themed pattern coming up that I'm very excited to share with you in a few weeks! Part of this fun pattern gives the option to decorate a crochet ornament or amigurumi using embroidery methods, so I thought I'd share a quick and easy tutorial on how I sew snowflakes.
This is a really easy and fun way to add some small details to your crocheted items, such as snowflakes on an ornament or details on your amigurumi doll's sweater!
In fact, my little Farley the Fox here is sporting some snowflakes on his turtleneck sweater. He takes nice selfies, doesn't he?
Shall we get started? Let's go!
Here's what you'll need:
- Yarn
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
And, here are the quick and easy steps!
- Using yarn and a yarn needle, sew a diagonal onto the desired snowflake spot.
- Sew a second diagonal to make the "X" shape.
- Lastly, sew a vertical line up the "X" shape to create a three-stroke snowflake.
- Continue the steps to make as many snowflakes as you'd like!
And...that's it, folks! Super simple, right?
If you're interested in this special holiday crochet pattern that I'm releasing soon, please stay tuned for it! I'm excited to share the free pattern with you shortly!
Much love,
