If you love baby pandas and want to crochet a realistic one, look no further. Here's my latest amigurumi design, a life-like Giant Panda Cub!
Links
The Giant Panda Cub is a large and realistic looking stuffed animal that is perfect for snuggling with! This jumbo bear design involves detailed face shaping to create a curved nose, life-like snout, chubby cheeks, a rounded body, and protruded toes on the back legs. These anatomical touches create a professional, high-end finish.
Here's a look at the Giant Panda Cub's pattern features~
Recommended Yarn
This stuffed bear was designed using the Posh Twist yarn from Lion Brand Yarn. It is a bulky weight 5 chenille velvet yarn that's super plush, yet sturdy. You can use other types of chenille velvet yarn or blanket yarn to get that plush and squishy look!
This pattern can also be crocheted with other fibers and yarn weights. For instance, you can use thinner weight cotton or acrylic yarn to crochet a smaller doll! I think the slightly textured Feels Like Bliss yarn would look lovely for a soft and furry look.
My worsted weight yarn recommendations include:
- Lion Brand Heartland (100% acrylic with a heathered look)
- Lion Brand's 24/7 Cotton Yarn (100% cotton and will produce crisp stitch definition)
- Brava Worsted or Caron Simply Soft (100% acrylic, sturdy, and pretty good bang for your buck!)
Uses
- Birthday gift, baby shower gift, or holiday present
- High-end product at craft fairs, markets, or boutiques
- Christmas stocking stuffer
