5 Luxury Possessions of the Highly Prosperous

The highly prosperous own possessions that the common people only read or dream about.

The expensive Gucci bags and Rolexes are just the tip of the iceberg - there is a lot more going on behind the scenes or in front of you!

Rich people often end up purchasing things which establish their wealth and income - this is usually to boost self-esteem and maintain a certain status.

Let us take a look at 5 luxury possessions of the highly prosperous.

1. Designer Clothes

Designer wear is not merely a status symbol rather it is a means of self-expression.

Some luxury brands like Chanel, Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton are old school. There are a few other less popular ones like Loro Piana, Briana and the Goyard Brand which are highly coveted amongst the richest of the rich for their excellent craftsmanship.

And we are not just talking about the clothes!

Be it hats, purses, accessories or shoes - anything sold by these labels is often worth hundreds and thousands of dollars.

They are crafted from expensive materials like exclusive leather, cashmere, silk, suede, gold and titanium.

And of course, these brands offer customization and personalization to the minutest details for their customers, ensuring that their goods are one of a kind!

2. Luxury Cars

If you see a Rolls-Royce or Lamborghini speeding by the road, you will instantly know that someone wealthy owns it.

Just like designer clothes, luxury cars are quite obvious indicators of enormous wealth - especially if the person owns an entire fleet.

Tesla, Mercedes-benz, BMW and Porsche are some popular fan favourites of millionaires.

Luxury car owners are often super passionate about their ride, and consciously stay up to date with the latest models and features.

3. Luxury Homes

The highly prosperous own more than a single home.

It is not uncommon for them to have several properties, thus they might include one or two mansions and luxury properties exclusively for vacations.

The uber rich may choose to spend summer months on a beach house in Bali or Hawaii and spend the winters in a luxury apartment in Dubai.

Some millionaires even go as far as purchasing private islands for themselves!

4. Expensive Artwork

The average person usually doesn’t own expensive art pieces or own art collections unless they work in that particular field or have a deep interest in it.

Rich people, of course, own several pieces of expensive or rare artworks.

Some do it out of appreciation for art while some do it for tax benefits.

By buying an expensive painting, it is possible to avoid paying hefty taxes if they donate it to a charity or gallery or resell it.

Expensive artworks are also a sign of wealth and improve a person’s image because an appreciation for art is often regarded as a hobby of the highly accomplished.

5. Antique Items

There is always something ancient or antique in a rich person’s home. It could have been acquired in an auction or could have been inherited.

The antique possessions can range from artworks, jewelry, expensive china to vintage furniture pieces. Sometimes stamps, coins and dolls also come under the collection.

These objects might hold cultural significance and be a part of the family heirloom and are often worth thousands of dollars with some even going up to millions.

Conclusion

A lot of these luxury possessions might be deemed extravagant and superfluous by the common person who cannot afford them.

This might not always be true, though. While the rich may never have to worry about their spending, they often are quite mindful of the value of their money. Most of the highly prized luxury possessions are acquired as investments that are sure to become more valuable with time.
