Miku the Moth · Amigurumi Crochet Doll Pattern

Hello my fellow amigurumi enthusiasts! Please welcome a whimsical little amigurumi design... MIKU THE MOTH! She's the second member of a new line of dolls that I'm designing: The Pearbody Doll Collection

Links

Miku the Moth is a member of Sweet Softies’ Pearbody Doll Collection. This waldorf style amigurumi doll has a triangular, pear-shaped body, a distinct feature of its charm. Miku has antennae and wings, and can be embellished with floral embroidery or other appliques to add detail.

Miku’s name means “beautiful sky” in Japanese.

About the Pattern

  • Height: 6 inches (15.2 cm)
  • Familiar beginner or intermediate pattern, suitable for crocheters familiar with basic amigurumi stitches and doll-making
  • Can easily be personalized with embroidery or other detailed embellishments, such as buttons and appliques
  • Giftable and cute
  • Style tags: nature, woodland, forest, cozy, animal, whimsical, fairytale, cottagecore, Waldorf, prairie revival

The Pearbody Doll Collection

The Pearbody Doll Collection is a line of amigurumi dolls designed by Sweet Softies. These crochet dolls have the following distinct features: triangular pear-shaped bodies, short stubby legs, and long dangly arms. Some of these dolls will also come with their own removable clothing and accessories, like Bearbushka!

Recommended Yarn

This doll was designed using Hobbii's Twister Solid XL yarn, which is a medium weight 4 yarn that's a cotton-acrylic blend. It creates a beautiful and crisp stitch definition.

Any cotton or acrylic yarn would be suitable for this pattern. Additional worsted weight yarn recommendations include:
However, you can experiment with different types of fibers for a different look. For instance, using a super bulky weight chenille velvet yarn can create a plush look. Or, opt for the slightly textured Feels Like Bliss yarn for a soft and furry look.

Uses

  • Birthday gift, baby shower gift, or Christmas holiday gift
  • High-end product at craft fairs, markets, or boutiques
  • Christmas stocking stuffer
