Pattern Testers Wanted For: Honey Bunny

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm on the lookout for a small group of pattern testers who can help me out with testing my newest amigurumi design: Honey Bunny!

This pattern:

  • Is low-sew
  • Includes a bow and ribbon
  • Suitable for intermediate crocheters
  • Can be used with different yarn colors and fibers

If you're interested, please read the information below for the requirements of this test, and how to apply.  (Don't delay, the sign-up form will be sent out to my mailing list on November 24th, 2023 at 12pm PST!)

What is pattern testing?

Pattern testing is big favor that I'm asking of interested crocheters to help me with, to make sure my pattern is well-written and clear before it gets published!

I'm a beginner. Can I test?

While I love beginners, this project has a tight deadline and so I will require experienced crocheters/testers for this.  If you are a beginner, I recommend taking your time and starting with beginner-friendly patterns without having any time pressure.  (Feel free to check out my free pattern page, which contains patterns that are mostly beginner-friendly!)

Which materials are needed for this test?

  • Plush, super bulky weight yarn in desired colors (I used beige, white, pink for the inner ears, and blue for the ribbon/bow)
  • 5mm hook (or suitable hook for your yarn choice, meaning it will produce tight stitches without gaps in-between)
  • 14mm plastic safety eyes
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Note on Alternative Materials: You are welcome to use any yarn color you wish. You can also use a lighter yarn weight (bulky #5 yarn, or medium #4 yarn) and fiber (wool, cotton, acrylic) if you wish.

What are the testing requirements?

As a tester, you will be expected to do the following:
  • Have the materials (or alternative materials) on hand and ready to go
  • Finish crocheting this project in its entirety (including the bow/ribbon) within a week and a half, without modifying any part of the pattern instructions
  • Read and understand written patterns in US Terminology
  • Proofread the written pattern for errors and typos
  • Provide feedback about the pattern, such as recommendations for improvement
  • Take clear photos of the finished product under natural lighting
  • Allow me to share photos of your finished product on my blog and social media sites (I will credit you as the crocheter, of course!)
  • Share the finished photos on your own social media (Facebook, Instagram), a crochet or amigurumi doll group page, and/or Ravelry when the final pattern is released

Here are important dates for this test:

  • Test sign-up form: Nov 24th, 12pm (PST)
  • Testers selected on: Nov 25th (if you are chosen, you will receive an email from me)
  • Deadline to complete the test: Dec 6th, 11:59pm (PST)

How do I sign up?

If you're ready to sign up to be a tester, sign up for Sweet Softies' mailing list (where I send out pattern testing opportunities and freebies) and watch out for an email coming your way on Nov 24th, 12pm PST!

Thank you so much for your offer to help me, and I look forward to selecting a tester soon!

Best wishes,
