Virtual Holiday Celebrations Don’t Have to Be Boring—Here’s How to Stay Festive This Season

With COVID-19 cases continuing to spike well into 2020, many holiday celebrations are looking quite different this year. Many are choosing to keep their gatherings virtual this year in an effort to remain cautious against the spread of COVID-19 and keep loved ones safe.

Along with the virus, the pandemic has also caused countless job losses and the burden of financial hardship all over the country. This means that lavish parties and extravagant gifts simply aren’t possible for many families this year. While we know this holiday season is unlike any other we’ve experienced due to these circumstances, a fun and festive holiday gathering can still be had (and one that doesn’t break the bank!)

As we enter into the holidays realizing we won’t be able to be physically near our loved ones, an important reminder is revealed: all that really matters this time of year is the health and safety of our friends and family. The added stress of a tighter budget than usual forces us to shift away from excessive spending on gifts, which is a relief for many families. If you’re celebrating virtually this year but are worried the festivities will lack their usual luster and excitement, don’t lose hope! All you need is a little creativity and the help of some online tools to have a fantastic holiday season.

If you’re opting for a virtual gathering this holiday, round up your friends and family on Zoom or your video conferencing platform of your choice and make it fun with these festive-themed custom Zoom backgrounds designed by Panda Security to add to the celebration.

There’s something for the little ones, too! Print out these printable props that cover multiple holidays—from Hanukkah to Kwanzaa to Christmas and Boxing Day—and let your kids in on the virtual family fun. The holiday season might look different this year, but that doesn’t mean there’s nothing to celebrate!
