The least expensive cities in the United States to have a treat-yourself day

A new cost analysis has revealed the cheapest cities in the United States to have a much-needed self-care day. We all know that indulging in pampering activities can be a luxury and quite expensive, but luckily for these cities, the cost of self-care won’t be hurting their pockets as much after a day of pampering and rejuvenation.

The study analyzed prices from over 1,700 businesses across the United States, focusing on popular self-care activities such as brunch, a cup of coffee, massages, and more. The data revealed that the cost of a self-care day can vary significantly depending on location.

Here’s what the study revealed as the top 5 least expensive cities:

Topping the list is Tampa, Florida, where a self-care day comes with an average price tag of $266.05. Not only is this sunny city home to some relaxing beaches, and delicious dining options, but it’s also the least expensive place in the country to get a massage at $76.00.

Close behind is Tulsa, Oklahoma, where a self-care day costs an average of $268.90–just dollars behind Tampa.

Rounding out the top five are Virginia Beach, Virginia ($271.82), Kansas City, Missouri ($272.69), and El Paso, Texas ($276.67). These cities offer a variety of affordable self-care options, from beachfront massages to cultural experiences.

If you’re a foodie living in El Paso, you’ll be glad to know that the city is the least expensive place in the country for brunch at $17.42 for eggs benedict and one mimosa. On the flip side, those same items would cost you an average of $31.42 in New York City.

While self-care can be a luxury, it's important to prioritize your well-being no matter how you decide to do it. If you live in one of these affordable destinations to treat yourself, consider yourself lucky!

Here are some tips for enjoying a budget-friendly self-care day:

Take advantage of free activities: Many cities offer free or low-cost activities, such as visiting parks, museums, or libraries which can be a fun way to get outside your house and enjoy the local scene.

Look for deals and discounts: Check online or in your email for coupons and promotions on self-care services and items. If you can’t find any, consider signing up with your phone or email to get discounts at your favorite places.

Consider DIY self-care: Treat yourself by indulging in a relaxing bath, facial mask, walk around the park, or manicure at home.
