how to make gardening easier

You already know how gardening could benefit you physically and mentally, but there is such a thing as weary knees aching back and that can make gardening feel like it's not fun but more of a punishment. Your garden is always in a constant state of growth, and if you pride yourself on making your home look nice, then it makes sense that you'll want to be out there keeping up with it and maintaining it so that it keeps looking its best. The problem is that as well as the garden being in a state of growth, so are you, which means that it can be a little bit too hard on the knees and the back sometimes. You need to know how to make gardening easier, and we've put together a list of tips for that below.

Tip #1

Use kneeling pads. It’s such a simple option, but it's something that you could use in your garden that makes a big difference to your overall physical well-being. Kneeling pads can help you to get onto your hands and knees without putting too much pressure on the joint. There are pads that slip over your legs so that you can deal directly on the ground, and there are also mats that you can put outside directly that are waterproof and versatile. You can even use kneeling seats or stools if you don't want to get all the way to the ground, but you need to get to your bushes to prune them.

Tip #2

Embrace power tools. A robot mower can make a big difference to your garden, where you don't have to push a mower around it. Power tools can make a big difference to the way that your garden looks, but it also can make you more comfortable as you organize your garden properly. With the right type of investment, you'll be able to make your garden look fantastic and not have to continue leading into doing everything by hand. You don't need to use a push mower when you can use a robot to do your garden for you.

Tip #3

Raise your beds. Table beds and planters are so much better for those who don't want to twist their bodies or bend down too much. You can buy them at a height that suits you the most and so many people often go for something impressive looking and waste high and that allows you to sit, to do your gardening or just bend slightly rather than all the way to the ground. Don't choose table beds that are too deep though, because you don't want to be left unable to reach into the middle of them.

Tip #4

Stick with lower maintenance plants. There are some plants out there that can really be Divas. They don't want to be too hot or too cold or too wet or too dry, and that can leave you feeling frustrated. So if you stick with something lower maintenance, you can save your mental well-being and keep yourself physically in shape because you'll be able to continue to look after your garden without having to put too much pressure on yourself.
