Super Bulky Stuffies with Pattern to Come!

Hi fellow crocheters!

Earlier, I posted a sneak peek of my 'Coney Island' bear, and then another sneak peek of an undecided critter.  Well, thanks to all of the different suggestions that were sent in through Facebook groups and my blog, I've decided to make him into a little kitty cat!

Meet Hudson Bay Cat and Coney Island Bear!

These two friends go quite well together, and are the newest members of the Cuddly Companion Series.  I named them both after the colorful, super bulky (weight 6) skeins of Lionbrand's Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® yarn that I used.  As you may infer, Hudson Bay is the coloration I used for the cat, and Coney Island is the coloration I used for the bear.  I also used the color, Fisherman, as the white areas for the dolls' paws, feet, ears, muzzle, and body stripes.

You might be wondering how much yarn I used for both dolls combined!  Here's the breakdown:

Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® Yarn Stripes - Coney Island - 612

Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® - Hudson Bay - 610

Wool-Ease® Thick & Quick® - Fisherman - 99

As you can see, the cat and bear have the same head size.  Their ear shapes differ, with the cat's being pointed and triangular, while the bear's are rounded semi-circles.  The cat's arms, body, and legs are slightly more petite than the bear's, and the cat also has a long and flexible tail.  Both, though, are a good 13 inches (33 centimeters) in height and SUPER soft and cuddly!  (I just LOVE making huggable toys with Lionbrand's dreamy yarn!)

I will be working on writing up the patterns for both of these designs, so stay tuned for updates!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!  Thanks for sticking around to read about my new Cuddly Companions!

Much love,
