Pocket Alien & UFO · Part 1 · Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern


The Pocket Alien & UFO pattern is the star of Sweet Softies' eighth annual Creator Challenge! This adorable no-sew duo is not only fun, fast, and easy to work up, it also lends the opportunity for lots of play. This base pattern can easily be customized with different color combinations and creative details.

Materials

  • Super bulky weight 6 chenille velvet yarn in desired colors (I used Hobbii's Toucan yarn in white, light grey, dark grey, and green)
  • 5mm crochet hook
  • 12mm plastic safety eyes (x2)
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Part 1: Alien Base

Note: The base is crocheted top-down, from the head to the bottom of the body.

Use green (or desired color) yarn. 

R1: Ch 2. Insert 8 sc in the 2nd ch from hook. (8)

R2: Inc around. (16)

R3: (Sc, inc) x 8. (24)

R4-R6: Sc around. (24)

R7: Dec around. (12)

Insert 12mm eyes between R5-R6, 5 sts apart. Stuff the head.

R8: Dec around. (6)

R9: Inc around. (12)

R10: (Sc 3, inc) x 3. (15)

R11: Sc around. (15)

R12: (Sc 3, dec) x 3. (12)

Stuff the body.

R13: Dec around. (6)

FO with a tail for sewing the opening closed.
