Make Your Indoor Days Colorful: Best Crafts For Lazy Weekends

(via: https://pixabay.com/photos/brush-paint-color-watercolor-art-96240/)

Everyone loves a fun day outdoors with their family. Unfortunately, these aren’t always possible due to the weather or a variety of other factors. However, just because you’re stuck inside doesn’t mean you can’t have a wonderful time.

There are plenty of fun things to do indoors, and one of the best and most popular is making crafts. Crafts can be a ton of fun to do solo, with your significant other or with the whole family. But with so many different kinds of crafts (with varying levels of difficulty and work involved), how do you choose the right one for a lazy weekend?

Well, you’re in luck. This blog post is going to go over some fun, colorful and exciting crafts for those relaxing indoor weekends.

Create Some Drawings or Paintings

Drawing and painting are some of the simplest ways to craft. Anyone can do it, and it can be done incredibly quickly, or hours can be spent on the perfect piece. You can make drawings or paintings for family members, for friends, or to decorate around your home.

Even just doing this for fun can be a calm and relaxing low-effort way to spend a great afternoon. Of course, be sure to ensure you have all the right tools. This includes pencils, stencils, paint, paint brushes, colored pencils or markers and potentially others, depending on your specific goals for the day.

Also, if you think you have all the gear you need, that might not be the case. For example, depending on the type of pencils you are using, you may benefit from a specific kind of sharpener (click here to learn more info).

Customize or Craft Some Accessories

While making some art to hang in your office at work or display on the fridge is great, why not have your craft involve something a little more practical? Our homes are full of different accessories that we use frequently like coasters, pots for plants, placemats, pillows, vases and dozens of others.

You can make these your own by personalizing them with different colors, designs and completely reimagine them. If you are particularly inclined, you could even build or create these accessories from scratch. You have complete freedom here to design things however you see fit, so get as creative as you and your family would like.

Tie Dye a Few Shirts

This craft is a tried and true option for those looking to have fun, as well as create something unique and beautiful. It can turn a boring old white shirt into a piece of art you can wear. There are many techniques you can use to tie dye to give the shirt a different design and color pattern.

The process is a little more involved, but with adult supervision it is easy for the kids to partake in the fun. Of course, be sure to be careful when tie dying. You don’t want the dye to get on the floor or any other clothing or furniture.

Any of these crafts can be a great way to spend time either by yourself or with your family on a lazy indoor weekend. They are full of color, a ton of fun, and allow you to spend some time with those who matter the most.
