Last Tuesday it rained all afternoon. My five-year-old dragged a shoebox onto the kitchen table, taped a yarn pom-pom inside, and announced it was a capybara theater. She grabbed a library book about jungle animals, and suddenly we had dialogue, scenery made from cereal-box cardboard, and an audience of stuffed bears.
