Bearbushka · Amigurumi Crochet Doll Pattern

Hello my fellow amigurumi enthusiasts! Please welcome a cozy little amigurumi design... BEARBUSHKA! She's the very first member of a new line of dolls that I'm designing: The Pearbody Doll Collection.

Links

Bearbushka is a sweet Grandma teddy bear has a charming pear-shaped body figure. This bear "babushka" comes with removable accessories for dress-up play. The pattern is versatile and a fun canvas for using different yarn color combinations for both the outfit and doll, as you can embroider flowers, leaves, or nature and floral motifs on the clothing.

Bearbushka comes with removable clothing and accessories, including:
  • Bonnet hood with holes for the ears
  • Layered dress with straps to tie behind the neck
  • Cozy cardigan jacket with a button

About the Pattern

  • Low-sew doll (sewing is only required for attaching the ears, arms, and muzzle to the head)
  • No-sew clothing accessories
  • Lots of pretend play and dress-up fun
  • Giftable and cute
  • Height: 5.5 inches
  • Intermediate pattern, suitable for crocheters familiar with making amigurumi dolls
  • Style tags: nature, woodland, forest, cozy, animal, whimsical, fairytale, cottagecore, Waldorf, prairie revival

The Pearbody Doll Collection

The Pearbody Doll Collection is a line of amigurumi dolls designed by Sweet Softies. These crochet dolls have the following distinct features: triangular pear-shaped bodies, short stubby legs, and long dangly arms. Some of these dolls will also come with their own removable clothing and accessories, like Bearbushka!

Here's a look at Bearbushka's base, which shows her body's distinct triangle shape.

Recommended Yarn

This doll was designed using Hobbii's Twister Solid XL yarn, which is a medium weight 4 yarn that's a cotton-acrylic blend. It creates a beautiful and crisp stitch definition.

Any cotton or acrylic yarn would be suitable for this pattern. Additional worsted weight yarn recommendations include:
However, you can experiment with different types of fibers for a different look. For instance, using a super bulky weight chenille velvet yarn can create a plush look. Or, opt for the slightly textured Feels Like Bliss yarn for a soft and furry look.

Uses

  • Pretend-play toy for children to play dress-up with
  • Prop for newborn, baby, or kid photoshoots
  • Nursery room decor
  • High-end product at craft fairs, markets, or boutiques
  • Birthday gift, baby shower gift, or Christmas holiday gift for babies, toddlers, and kids
  • Christmas stocking stuffer
