The Cute Catsby · Free Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Hello my fellow crocheters,

I'm so excited to share with you my newest amigurumi design, the Cute Catsby!  As you can see, he's a real spiffy little guy with a bow tie and all.

Design Features

  • This beginner-friendly pattern uses basic amigurumi stitches (such as single crochet, increase, decrease, chain).
  • Arms are designed with larger hands for young children to grip, so they can easily carry this favorite toy with them!
  • The bowtie is a removable accessory that can be worn as a bow headband if desired.
  • Legs and body are crocheted together in one piece to minimize sewing.

I do have to say, though... even on its own without his bow tie, this sweet kitty is still cute as a button!

The Yarn I Used

For this project, I wanted to make sure I use a material that is soft and safe for little ones.  I also wanted something that would hold up well with lots of use.  The yarn I ultimately selected was Lion Brand Basic Stitch Anti Pilling™ Yarn, and I used the colors "White" and "Grey/White"!  The variegated grey-and-white skein came out beautifully in amigurumi form, which was exciting to see!  This yarn overall was very easy to work with and the result is an anti-pilling stuffy, which I really appreciate because I want this toy looking pristine even after lots of love and playtime!

Make this Lovey for...

Anyone who'd love this spiffy cat!  This toy is perfect as a cuddle buddy for babies and toddlers, and as a stuffed animal doll for children.  Cute Catsby is a wonderful handmade gift for baby showers, kids birthdays, and Christmas and holidays!
