Foxy Mug Rug Pattern Test

***UPDATE: This pattern is now available! Check out the Foxy Mug Rug pattern page for all the pattern links and info.***

Dear fellow crocheters,

I'm on the lookout for a small group of pattern testers who can help me out with testing my newest amigurumi design: Foxy Mug Rug!

This pattern is:

  • Low-sew
  • Suitable for intermediate crocheters who are comfortable crocheting with faux fur yarn
  • Designed using faux fur yarn but can be crocheted with other fibers

If you're interested, please read the information below for the requirements of this test, and how to apply.

What is pattern testing?

Pattern testing is big favor that I'm asking of interested crocheters to help me with, to make sure my pattern is well-written and clear before it gets published!

I'm a beginner. Can I test?

While I love beginners, this project has a tight deadline and so I will require experienced crocheters/testers for this.  If you are a beginner, I recommend taking your time and starting with beginner-friendly patterns without having any time pressure.  (Feel free to check out my free pattern page, which contains patterns that are mostly beginner-friendly!)

Which materials are needed for this test?

  • Bulky weight faux fur yarn in desired colors (I used Feels like Bliss Yarn in white, orange, and grey)
  • 4mm hook
  • 6mm hook
  • 10mm plastic safety eyes
  • Fiberfill stuffing
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Note on Alternative Materials: You are welcome to use any yarn color you wish. You can also use a different weight or type of yarn (such as chenille velvet yarn) if you wish.

What are the testing requirements?

As a tester, you will be expected to do the following:
  • Have the materials (or alternative materials) on hand and ready to go
  • Finish crocheting this project in its entirety in a week's time, without modifying any part of the pattern instructions
  • Read and understand written patterns in US Terminology
  • Proofread the written pattern for errors and typos
  • Provide feedback about the pattern, such as recommendations for improvement
  • Take clear photos of the finished product under natural lighting
  • Allow me to share photos of your finished product on my blog and social media sites (I will credit you as the crocheter, of course!)
  • Share the finished photos on your own social media (Facebook, Instagram), a crochet or amigurumi doll group page, and/or Ravelry when the final pattern is released

Here are important dates for this test (by end of the day, PST):

  • Test sign-up on Instagram @SweetSofties: Oct 1st
  • Testers selected via Instagram on: Oct 4th (if you are chosen, you will receive a message from me)
  • Deadline to complete the test: Oct 13th
  • Pattern release: Oct 15th

How do I sign up?

In all my previous pattern tests, I have sent out pattern testing forms through my mailing list, but I'm trying something new this time. Please sign up by responding to my tester call on Instagram

Thank you so much for your interest in helping me, and I look forward to selecting a tester soon!

Best wishes,
